Trumpy says China's Xi made a widdle mistake
I guess threatening a 139% tariff got Xi's attention.
[Grok generated. Bone China.]
Donald was upset that President Xi Jinping suddenly halted exports of rare earths, metals, and other critical defense industry and chip-making materials. China already had a 39% tariff, and Trump threatened to put an additional 100% tariff on top of that. The 139% tariff almost matched the worst one that he had set up earlier in the year that was going to be 145%. Apparently, Xi called to kiss and make up.
“Highly respected President Xi just had a bad moment.” It sounds like a case of diarrhea.
“He doesn't want Depression for his country, and neither do I.” Then end all the tariffs. Probably should have made that “a Depression.” Actually, the whole country is depressed. But as soon as the effects of the tariffs really take effect, we're either heading into a recession, a depression or stagflation. Whatever it is, it's not going to be good.
“The U.S.A. wants to help China, not hurt it!!!” You only hurt the one you love. That means China is still an enemy. From what Trump has said in the past about China, this is only a one shot expression of cooperation.
This love fest probably won't last long. Good relations with anyone Trump deals with doesn't last long. He always finds a way to alienate them. We can only hope.
